City Centre Georgian Apartment

The Brief

To create an opulent city centre apartment suitable for use as an urban haven and for entertainment.

Our Response

Located in a Georgian house the apartment required a total refurbishment. Starting in the entrance hall, a deep red Cole & Son wallpaper was chosen to create drama and impact and elegant wall chandeliers were selected to finish the look.

The master bedroom was decorated in shades of turquoise and silver, and continuing the feeling of opulence the bed was fully dressed with a hand-carved and upholstered crown and side curtains in a rich silk fabric. A hand-carved velvet upholstered headboard, silk bedspread and valance were all custom made to create a luxurious and elegant bed. Wallpaper in a richly printed turquoise and silver design was used behind the bed, while the rest of the walls were painted in cream to blend with the Christian design wardrobes. The windows were dressed with two pairs of silk curtains, cream silk for the curtains to be drawn at night and turquoise silk fitted on a valance board to finish the windows. The living room had two large Georgian windows which were dressed with a pale almond green moiré fabric trimmed with raspberry fringing. More traditional furniture was used here to create a warm and welcoming feeling. A sofa was upholstered in a deep raspberry shade. Smaller pieces of seating and accessories were enlivened with a delicate florals and checks. Mahogany antiques were sourced for side and occasional tables and a custom designed rug was added to complete the sense of luxury and elegance
